ASSESSMENT AND APPLICATION
When you observe people taking a leisurely walk together, be it in a park, along the seashore, or such similar places, what comes to mind?
Reflect on significant walks you have had others – what is it about them which resides in the memory?
Bill described the phrase, ‘let’s go for a walk’ as ‘an invitation to community’. Who are you current inviting into your community at this stage of your life?
Proverbs 17:17 says, “A friend loves at all times and a brother is born from adversity.” Are you building a ‘team’ which contains those who will ‘speak the truth in love’ to you? Ask God to reveal who you ‘team members’ are at present. Are there others whom you might need to recruit?
Take time to thank God for your friends and those you have known who have truly added value to your life. How might you in turn be such a friend to others?
